We women are all brought up with the thought that the contraceptive pill is probably in the same line as getting your first bra. It’s part of becoming a woman but also the most normal thing in the world.
Since, still according to many doctors, it is completely harmless to take it and some would even consider you a fool if you would be hesitant to take it.
Trying to find some recent writing about this matter I came across an article on the BBC website, stating the strange truth about the pill.
Here Zaria Gorvett tells about her findings which shocked me.
Only 8 years ago the first research was done about the actual effects on women’s brains who were taking the pill. Since such a large majority of the world’s population has been taking them for all their life up until the point that they get to menopause.
She found that there are actually artificial hormones in the pill derived from a male hormone, which causes a very strange and different brain development in women who take the pill in comparison to women who do not.
The main reason I started my own research on the effects of the pill is that ever since I started taking the pill, at the age of only 16, I haven’t felt myself.
And that is even stating it lightly.
Feeling always sick, I had extreme intestine pains, no energy, and very bad headaches at least once a week.
I then came across a medical website which stated that the pill could cause intestinal problems. These intestinal problems could be the cause of my low immune system.
At this point my intestine pains were unbearable and so I decided to take the “big leap of faith” and stopped taking the pill.
Now I call this a big leap of faith because the majority of the doctors would for one say it had no connection to my illness whatsoever and that I may experience problems such as weight gain, hair loss etc. when I would stop the taking the pill.
For almost a year now I have been off the pill and, with some non-chemical hormonal therapy, feel like a totally different person.
Healthy, energetic, happy and pain-free!
With my eyes finally opened to the poison that I have been prescribed all these years, found out many other women in my immediate vicinity who have experienced the exact same thing. Feeling more alive and finally being able to see and think clearly again.
There is a side note to stop taking the pill, and that is that you should do it combined with a specialized clinic checking your hormone levels afterward.
This is very crucial since a lot of women have been on these artificial hormones for most of their lives, and will need some natural help to get their own hormones back in place so to speak.
It makes me sad that there are so many women out there struggling to get by just because of the ignorance of their doctor, plus probably in a combination of the pharmaceutical industry highly benefiting of the fact that you buy their artificial pill month after month.
The most significant thing someone told me before I stopped taking the pill was, “ Now you don’t realize when you’re still taking it what a better and happier person you can be!”
And this was in fact, exactly the case.
